What is your favorite childhood book?

I have too many childhood favorites to list! I especially loved Shel Silverstein’s poetry books such as Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic. I loved reading through and flagging my favorite poems.

What is your secret talent?

I’ve always enjoyed playing trivia games, and I love to learn random bits of knowledge about different topics I’m interested in.

Who was your favorite teacher in Elementary School and Why?

I was very lucky to love all of my elementary school teachers.  I especially admired Mrs Lehman, my third grade teacher.  She made learning so fun by doing science experiments, book reports, and other projects that were really engaging and memorable. I felt like she truly cared for every single one of her students, and I always felt welcome in her class.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

My favorite thing about teaching is getting to know my students and their families. I love building a community in our classroom where we can all learn, make mistakes, and have lots of fun together.

What is your favorite subject to teach and why?

I love teaching literacy. I think we can have so much fun reading, writing, and learning from various stories.
